This is mistake. I got my EAD last year with validity only between 10/01/2007 and 01/01/2008. I called USCIS. They have asked me to send a new application for a new card with out the application fee. You probably have to do the same. Since it is mistake on their part you don't have pay any fee. Please talk to USCIS, they will let you know how to proceed.
I agree with Eb2India, It appears to be a mistake or typo on the part of USCIS.
You should approcah them. Hopefully they will react the same way as his case and you will get extended EAD. Goodluck

Looks like this rule may not come into effect for fiscal year 2006 ie 30th september 2006. lookat todays immigration-law post.

I have used AC21 replied to all the RFEs about it. Laast year my attorney delayed renewal of my EAD and immediately 485 petition started moving and landed in National benefits Center for scheduling an interview.
In 60 days after receiving the case the NBC has scheduled this initial interview, only for me.
Additionally what is worrying me is that they are vague on what documents they want.
They say if this is marriage based GC your spouse should attend. Or of parent-child based GC the petitioning parents or child should attend.
They have specifially mentioned medicals if not already submitted, birth certificate, returns, employers letter, EADs, travel documents, I-94 and then they say all supporting documents submitted with the application. What do they mean? Is this because they don't know what they are looking for? on top of this the words "initial interview" have confused me.
I guess the cases that are pre-adjucated are called for interview.

I see that for EB2 the PD is 01 APR 2004 now. I want to know if I-485 approvals is linked to this PD date or they will work independent to these days.

Hey, I would like to help you but I know next to nothing about J-1 Physician waivers. It is a completely different system. My understanding that the best way to get a waiver is to go through the Conrad 30 program if your wife works in a hospital in an underserved area. I would encourage you look through this forum for individuals who would know more about the process. Likewise, I would also suggest that you consult with an attorney. I used one of the best attorney firms in the world and it was relatively inexpensive. Attorneys really do wonders in these cases bacause they understand this process inside and out and know exactly what the Department of State is looking for.

With approved I-140 H1-B extension can certainly be done .
For 365-day period one can take out the days he/she has been away from US for work, vacation,etc. Check immigration-law.com for this.
My question to my valuable friends is that if I've filed PERM well before 365 days (i.e. the last year) but it was denied and then i refiled another PERM after the 365-day period was started, then would I still be able to renew my H1 based upon filed PERM or approved I-140 or what? :confused:

New employer has Fragomen and I heard there is lot of negative air about their procedures on PERM. Current employer legal firm is Baker McKenzie.
I am kind of reluctant to have Fragomen as my attorney representation

Well, I meant in the light of these new details coming out about visa numbers actually being available as claimed by "knowledgeable sources", and also in the light of the *kind of* questions being asked by Zoe Lofgren.
Just read the Ombudsman's report today - though I'd heard about these facts floating aroiund...
Not claiming to make some new discovery here... merely stating that it kinda makes sense now.
Sorry to start a new thread about this.... listened to Rajiv Khanna's recorded conf call and apparently he's not very hopeful anything will come out of AILF's class action...

That note now says it is smart to file in July. This gives us the hint, at least I beileve, in the background USCIS is forced to come up with favorable solution to us perhaps without the need of lawsuite by AILF. I'm a UK citizen (waiting for GC), and one obversation that I have is:
If you are very good in your profession odds are that you'll suceed in either country. But if you are average (and by definition most are) then you'll be at a disadvantage with respect to the locals when you go somewhere new, especially if you don't have good contacts.
So I'd recommend thinking dispassionately about how good you are at your profession, and just as importantly how well that comes across in resume or interview. Do you have good contacts in UK?
I'm not sure if "indefinite leave to stay" gives you access to the whole EU, but it's a path to UK citizenship which does give you access to the whole EU job market (language barriers permitting). It does suck that UK gov effectively retrospectively changed the rules for "indefinite leave to stay", but at least in UK there is an end date (unless they push it out each year). Here for some there is no obvious end date for the waiting.
I also think that "indefinite leave to stay" may have a few strings (like GC six month in country requirement).

Guys,
The I140 processing dates for VSC show as 1 April 2006 and have been the same atleast for the last 1 year. I called customer service but couldnt get a straight answer from them - the standard bs about RD being well within standard processing times etc. Anyway, does anyone have an idea about this issue???

Embassies do not handle these matters. Departure and arrival records are maintained by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). Here is the link for instructions on what to do if you did not surrender the I-94:

it says :
Officially, after the President signs the bill, 10 days passes without a signature, or after a veto override, the bill is considered law. It is in effect at that moment. But in reality, it is, of course, more difficult than that.
Even on the Wikipedia article listed in the FAQ there was no mention of a 90 day delay. Just wondering if Sen Sessions simply asked for a 90 day delay or a 180 day delay.

Strange...my 140 was filed on Nov 2006....and then got a REF on August 29th 2007, my pawyer responsed last week...and I thought that as soon as USCIS gets the evidence they will hopefully approve my case....(the evidence was a minor (atleast I thought it was minor) issue about birth date...
and now USCIS has revieved the evidence they asked for...guess what they say...
On October 10, 2007, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done.
