Good luck!. In my opinion, you need to know following people very well apart from money if you want to lead the same lifestyle.
1. MLA or MP (Even to get good school admission you need recommendation)
2. DSP or SP level police officer (to have security in life)
3. Thasildar level officer (to have your property secure)
4. Local Dhadha's support (to protect from land acquisition, other dadhas)
5. Good neighbors, teachers and relatives (to protect our loved ones spouse/kids from emotional attack)
And of course at least 2 crores cash (half million US $??). I don't have anything right now, so I would love to spend my rest of live here hoping to get GC some day in my life.

If skill bill is passed in the same form as it is Americans will be alarmed seeing the inflow based on exemption of US based Master degree and STEM. Not only to Americans it is threat for current H1s and green card holders as well. The problem is those who have money in India can get admission in USA MS degree in any non standard college(I do not think INS can evaluate whether it is standard or not). So atleast 4 times of current MS students will come and they will get h1(I think Ms people has exemption in quota) thro Desi consultants by paying Money and get green card immeditely. This will defeat the purpose of skill bill itself. And also India so many people are doing MSC they can get gc easily here(As we know Indians or anyone will use loopholes to come here and get gc). If immigration is increased so much then it will impact all kinds of exsisting people. I think there should be control in number of h1s and also green cards. I am clear that both H1 and green card numbers should be increased but blanket exemption should not be given any category especially for H1. There were a situation on 2000 and 2001 lot of people returned India because of too much supply and Americans were angry with immigrants at that time especially H1 because they were laid off.
So basically increase of immigration should be based on supply and demand . The purpose of Labour certification is to verify whether any american is rejected for that job. But that is now just formal and real test is not done(it is not possible to do it. If they do it it will take years to clear). I think if they double number of gcs the retrogession issue will be resolved for atleast another 5 years

For your Information India's GDP is 3 trillion USD compare to Mexico 1 trillion USD. Taking into account GDP of EU India ranks 5th in GDP higher than any indivisual European nation where as Mexico ranks 13th. This is as per CIA worldfactbook. So where did you get the number

Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Get your facts straight before you confront me and make fun of my MBA (which I got in the U.S. incidentally, not Mexico, but if I had wanted I could have gotten a top 20 MBA back home). I am the same boat, got the approval email and a week later received the approval notice in the mail. Did not get welcome or CPO email. My approval notice says I MAY have to do biometrics again to get my PR card
and they will notify me about appearing for biometrics if required.
Dose your approval notice have a similar message?

Yes my notice did say that Biometriics may be required buut it also said "do not take any action now" and IF required I will get a Biometrics notice.
I spoke to the CSr and she said if you do not get the cards in 30 days call back and she added that you will not get a welcome notice since you already have the approval nootice.
Well I am hounding my mailbox both physical and electronic since then but nothing so far...:confused:

I feel much better. These are trying times for sure.
Loads of work at the office, moving from one city to another and above all...this frustrating wait --- Its 2 much 2 handle. But I'm with u guyz...I think I shud just STFU N wait.
For all those waiting for approval, its does help to find out if a visa number has been requested for your application. My understanding is that all the applications which are ready for adjudication are moved to a separate area and visa number is requested for those.Infact if you can find out (I think the guys at Infopass only have access to that information. Not sure if the level 2 service does) it helps. If a visa number has been assigned or requested for your application it will get approved.
I am not sure if assigned to an officer or with an officer status has any material value when it comes to approval unless a visa number has been requested.

If someone ports from EB3 to EB2, then they deserve to be in the front of the queue. Nothing wrong in the process..
"EB-2 India. This category is expected to remain unchanged or to move very slowly forward (by a week or so) in the short-term. This is mainly caused by the fact that many EB-3 India applicants (there are approximately 60,000 EB-3 India pending cases) are �porting� their priority dates into the EB-2 India category and are thus taking visa numbers.
EB2 India is slowwly becoming EB3 as thousands are porting from EB3 to EB2. Some of them are really worthy of EB2 and some of them are fradulent.
EB2 India applicants should wake up from their celebratio of a few months leap and get ready for slow movement or retro.

The rule should be if I140 for porting is denied then the applicatnt should loose his/her initial EB3 priority date also as he /she has indicated that he/she is no longer working in the position as described in EB3 labor. This will make sure that fradulent applicants cannot port from EB3 to EB2.
P.S: I know I will get thousands of REDs. I do not care... EB2 I guys wake up.. Time is running out.. EB2 I will very quickly become same as EB3I.

I am pretty for EB3 folks. This is really not fare to those genuine guys (not substitute ones) waiting more than 7 years. I am know few friends applied with me in EB3 have lost green card hope. They are eligible for EB2 when applying but only reason that stopped them is their company don't want them to apply in EB2 category. Praying god is the only thing I can do for them..

US employment based immigration system is merit based, not need based. The EB system is to keep US industry more competitive. if you were a hiring manager, you would give a Pakistani more preference than an Indian, just because Pakistan has less infrastructure than India?

For sure legal alternatives wont help. the country cap is to ensure equal opportunity for smaller countries which dont have enough infrastructure as large countries such as India/china. We cannot expect the country cap to be removed.
